Our little Hercules

My office helper came to work with me on Tuesday while Grandma went to get a Mammogram. Miss S was so happy that she could hold both of these empty water bottles. She also loves the adding machine. Makes long money receipts with it and sent plenty of emails on the turned off computer!

Braids on Sunday...

Decided to try something new and asked Savannah to let me braid her hair, after a few ouchy's this is what we had. Yes, it is crooked but you try and make a 2 year old sit still!! I know it was a hit because she asked me for more braids on Tuesday. Kept her cool at Santana Row which is where we were off to eat lunch with the Taylor's.

Please Daddy!! Can we take the giraffe home? Look....he is thinking about it. Don't worry, Mommy swooped in and said no to the giraffe.

Very cool flowers are planted all along Santana Row. Makes a wonderful warm day stroll all the better.
Looking out thru the tree in the center. After lunch, we walked around and then took the girls to the center and let them run around this tree about 10,000 times. Miss S had a blast and it was nice to see that she enjoyed playing with Bella and Julienna.
We had walked thru the farmer's market and she was demanding cherries. Clark and I were pretty sure she had never had them but thought maybe she had some with Papa at Disneyland. Clark bought her some and I said to get some strawberries too since I think that is what she really wants. Nope, she loves cherries and knows that you have to take the pit out. Amazing little sponge must have picked this up from t.v. or something!!!

Rebecca's night to shine!

It was the Spring Choir concert at Rebecca's school on Thursday the 15th. It was also the hottest day of the year so we thought we were going to roast to death but it turns out when you go to a brand new school....they have rockin' free air conditioning!!! I am not high tech enough to blur out other kids who might not want to appear on my blog but my camera did this funky thing and I am standing by the fact it is kinda cool....we know where she is...big smile and all!
This was her picture posted on the wall of the school that she went to Chuck E. Cheese night. She had a pretty cool shirt on with her class name and drawings from everyone in the class.
Here she is by the Run, Walk, Club which mets every Friday afterschool. She loves it and I think she completed over 15 miles so far.
Just to throw in the other kids that were there. Joseph was excited to see Kyle and he wanted Kyle to walk around with him.

The songs the Choir sung were Disney classics and High School Musical stuff. I was happy that I spent the money and took her to see the High School Musical Concert for Christmas year before last . Will she ever star in such a thing? Probably not but man was she happy to sing her heart out and be a super star for the hour!!!! Kyle gave her the thumbs up and she could not beam with pride more!!! SO nice to see Rebecca have something that she loves. Go Rebecca Go!

Savanah observations of the week.....

While meeting Pluto in California Adventure, she decided she did not want to take a picture with him. She finally yelled out " Goofy is better then you!" We think it is because she ate at Goofy's kitchen and LOVED it! But also it is true......Goofy can talk, walks on two feet, cooks, drives a car and more.....Pluto is pretty much just a dog!

Savannah woke up from her nap and came out to find me. She asked, "Where's my dad?" I said he went to Big 5 to buy some new black shoes for work. She wanted to know why? I said Daddy needs them for work. "Where does he work?" I said Conway. She said "Conway?" I said yes. Then she said where do you work. I told her the name and she butchered it pretty much but I knew what she was saying. I asked her "Where do you work?" Right away she came back with "At City Hall" I said oh who do you work with? Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald. Yes, she knows that the characters come out of City Hall at Toontown so I guess that is where she wants to work.......If she worked there, Grandma would come to visit her everyday!

Happy Mother's Day!

This is the new plant the kids bought me for Mother's Day. Perfect for the yard....a little touch of our happy place right here in the front yard. Love the color and what it represents!
My smiling sweethearts! I am so happy to be their mom and it is my favorite role in life. Nothing better then hearing "I love you!" from them. I even love their cheesy smiles!!!!!
At my mom's on Mother's Day the big cousins were "Dancing with the Stars" while the little ones were in the playhouse and outside popping bubbles! Nice to see them play so well together. We celebrated with Brunch in the morning. We had eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, fruit salad, and cinnamon rolls. Yummy food and we were full! Uncle Ray brought his cigar boxes of old pictures and postcards. Very cool stuff to share and we made notes of the places to visit while in South Dakota. We will have to try and make my mom ride on the concrete dinosaurs with the kids if they are still there.
Mom. Kids, and Grandkids on Mother's Day 2008! Nice to have us all together and able to celebrate. We love you mom! It is so great to have a mom that you can always depend on, who keeps the family together, who cooks awesome meals, who shops for all of us still, who treats the grandkids wonderfully and honestly enjoys being a grandma to them, who is a wonderful friend and biggest cheerleader! Thanks mom for all that you do!!!!!!!!!!
Here we all are with our Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma! She probably never thought she would be almost 90 years old and celebrating with all of us. She has a special relationship with each of us and we love her for all of her crazy quirks. Nice to see her smile and enjoying the day. Hope that someday I will be the Great Grandma enjoying my own family on Mother's Day!!!!!

Here's to all the mom's- know that your family loves you for who you are and appreciates all that you do. The crazy mom moments are part of you and without them life would not be the same. Put your feet up, let the dust bunnies hide, put off shopping and laundry and spend a few moments hugging your kids!

Fun Saturday!

We went with Kyle to Scout O Rama at San Jose History Park. His Troop was doing a cooking demonstration and they made eggs in a bag and peach cobbler. We did not try either one so not sure how it came out. Clark stayed with Kyle while Savannah and Grandma and I walked around the history park. It has been a while since Grandma had been there but I had visited a couple of years ago with one of Kyle's classes.
Savannah tries out the covered wagon. Grandma is worried that she is going to fall out!!! She did fine and wanted to know where the horses were?
My model poses next to an old Ford truck. She had the best time looking at all the old buildings and riding the trolley. She also went to the car barn and art gallery. We had a little ice cream break, looked at the other boy scout displays and enjoyed the wonderful weather! A slight breeze but plenty of sunshine...the reason we live in California!
After we looked at all the exhibits for the boy scouts, we decided to take a walk over to the Japanese Friendship Gardens. I remember going here many times when I was little. Here Savannah is amazed that she is able to walk over the water. She loved feeding the koi fish and kept telling the ducks to go back to their family and leave the koi alone. The 25 cents I spent on fish food allowed us to spend about an hour trying to feed them. She actually carried the last two pieces until the end.
Goodbye fishies!!!! We will come and visit you soon!!!

We walked back to the car at the Ice Center and watched the ice skaters until it was time to meet Clark and Kyle. Savannah has been bugging me that she wanted to learn how to skate but of course she must be 3....So we have a little more time before she can begin lessons. She wants the pink skates and ballerina outfit to learn to skate too. My girly -girl loves the sparkle!!!!

Guess who's going to Disneyland again?

Yep, Miss S!!! She is going for 4 days with Grandma and Papa. Why? Well, gee they have not been since March!!!! Can you believe it? I'm sure they will have a fantastic time eating at Goofy's Kitchen (it will be Miss S's first time) and talking to all the Princesses and eating dole whips at the Tiki Room!

Kyle is going to go to boy scout camp in July and Clark said the other parents said maybe we should all go to Disneyland after we pick them up. The camp is a couple of hours away so why not? They were all talking about who would go and how people could travel together to end up with only one car per family at Disneyland. Clark said right away that he would have to bring Kyle's Grandma too. So yesterday morning, I told her and boy she was right on making plans and getting ready to go again. This will keep up her tradition of going at least every other month. There is too much going on in June to try and go then so by going in July, she is sure to spend her birthday in September at Disneyland too!
Getting ready for Mother's Day, we will have brunch at my parents. The menu looks pretty good right now and then 2 members of our family will need to pack up to go off on Monday. Clark is going on a business trip to Ontario too. So Kyle and I will be solo working on his Italy report which is due in just 2 short weeks!!!
We also have scout o rama this weekend.....not sure what it is but I will have pictures of this and Mother's Day to post!
Have a great day!!!

Here is Kyle as a guest writer.

Kyle had me type this up and I thought I would share it with everyone else too!

My Hobby is Drawing.
My favorite hobby is drawing. I draw because it keeps me busy during the day or when I have free time. It is also fun to show other people my art and the work that goes into it. It’s fun and interesting to see what other people do in their drawings. It is a hobby almost anyone can do. Drawing just needs paper and something to draw with. Sometimes I use pens or pencils or watercolor pencils too.
I have been drawing for a long time but probably started to do it as a hobby in kindergarten. I like to draw pictures and other stuff too. My favorite thing to draw is comic book characters. You can draw many different people and places that could be in a comic book. I usually start with line drawings and then color in afterwards. After I draw the characters, I start to think of what they will do in the story and then draw in the places.
Drawing is a hobby anyone can do but it is my favorite thing to do.

Happy May!

Okay, I probably should have posted this on the 1st but who knows where my time goes.

We had the usual busy weekend. Kids needed to be in two different places at the same time so thank goodness we only have 2!

Savannah graduated from Gymboree. Yep, it was her last class on Saturday. She has been enrolled since she was 10 months old and most of her friends have left too but we had 6 weeks of membership on hold and wanted to use them up. She is now down to just one class....swimming on Saturday's until the 31st of May. She has said she wants to go back to soccer so we might do that for the summer- it is indoors and nice to not have to worry about the weather. Everything at this point is parent/child until she is 3 or potty trained and that is pretty non-successful right now.

Kyle has been on a 2 week break from all of his stuff so he could get back in a school work mode. He needed to buckle down and get caught back up. Junior High is going to be a difficult transition for him and us! I went to a seminar this week on being dsylexic and have decided to become a tutor. It is a pretty expensive course and a lot of work for me but I feel he is worth it and if it doesn't help at least I know I tried and will look for something else. He is definately a poster child for dsylexia!!!! Thank goodness for wonderful teachers who care about him and want him to succeed.
