Okay, I know it was the first day of spring the other day but spring usually comes early here-usually by the beginning of March I pull out my capri pants to wear at least on the weekends. No go this year though. Toady is FABULOUS!!! and sunny so I knew it was going to be the first true day of spring for me! Pulled out the spring/summer outfit of denim capris, fushia colored t-shirt, pink and fushia Minnie crocs and off we went to the movies.
We saw Monsters Vs. Aliens. I knew it was PG and not G and also not a Disney movie but Savannah had been asking since last Christmas when she saw the first previews. Grandma brought Rebecca and Joseph and Julienna and Bella brought their parents too! It had funny moments and a crazy alien and had a pretty good girl power plot! We did not go to the 3D Imax because well, it was $4 more and I am just not that into the 3D thing. I could tell where they would have had it popping out at you but I also know we will not wear the 3D glasses at home when we rewatch this so what is the point. Next week we will be off to the movies again to go see Hannah Montana!
It is a girls only weekend as the boys went off to PreCamporee camping with boy scouts. They went to Mt. Madonna which is close to home and they should be having a great time with the awesome weather we are having.
Savannah and Grandma had two play dates this week. No photos because Grandma forget her camera! She went to Oak Meadow park in Los Gatos with Abby and Ella and had lots of fun. Abby and Ella's Grandma brought her a super cute personalized sand bucket. (I guess I could have taken a picture of that!ha) They played and took a long walk. Rode the Merry Go Round too! The next day they were off again to meet Gina and Gianna at the Morgan Hill/Gilroy YMCA to swim. Savannah had the best time and made another friend named Lila too! She said her favorite part was the water slide. See I have two fish children!!! Too bad Mommy can't stand having water in her face.
Kyle had a rough week of too much school or something. He follows a pattern where he does really well and then falls apart hard one week every 6 or something. Homework not turned in-but done....I will never ever understand this. I remember Michael driving my Dad insane with doing the homework but not turning it in and now I am living it at my house! Television is now taken away until Spring Break and hopefully he will be able to bring his grades back up to honor roll status within the week. He has made honor roll all year so even with his learning disability I know he can do it. The cut off is this coming Friday the 3rd!!!!I will be holding my breath until the grades are posted!!!
Grandma joined Savannah and I for a Friday night visit to the mall and we bought the Easter dress and a couple more. I also bought a ton of hair accessories to go with all of her new things and things we need to get out of storage. They will be going to Disneyland on Monday a.m. and I have to finish the laundry and get her packed. My mom just booked another trip for May so I'm going to try and work it out that the rest of us can go for a day and a half or so to that trip. Junior High gets in the way of planning trips! Savannah is offically becoming a Disneyland passholder this week!!! Nothing makes Grandma happier then knowing that she is going and has another trip booked. Still trying to figure out the August vacation but I need to plan something for Clark's birthday on the 17th. Kyle has a taiko event on the 19th so we can't go far if we are going somewhere but Kyle is on Spring Break and Clark took the day off so I probably will too.
Gotta plan for Coconut too!
Okay enough rambling on with no pictures but just getting an update in there!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend and hope you have the amazing sunshine and warm weather that we have!

Introducing the Blazin Arrows!
Winter swimming is the BEST!!!
This was another benefit of the birthday party at the hotel. We did leave when the pool got a little rowdy-I'm sure it was everyone else thought the same thing. Yucky outside let's hit the pool. The girls got plenty of pool time and we relaxed and talked and enjoyed the atmosphere. Looking forward to warmer days and pool days in the summer.

Viva Las Vegas
Kyle's family party was a Las Vegas themed night. We had food that was all requested by Kyle....except for the salad part.....he said we could have it for people who liked that sort of thing! We had ravioli's both meat with red sauce ( thanks Grandma and Papa) and spinach and cheese ones, italian sausage (again thanks Gradma!) ceasar salad, tomoato, mozzarella and basil salad (my fav!) and Parisian salad, garlic bread both wheat and garlic garlic bread, other yummy stuff! After the food, we had a card and dice night. Most people just visited but the kids all played cards and sang along to Kyle's ipod. I think everyone had a great time and the cake was a HUGE hit! Yummy and tasty. It was a whipped cream, marble cake filled with custard and strawberries. Not much left afterwards and we finished it off the next day. Wonderful to have so many family memebers and friends we consider family to come and celebrate Kyle's 13th birthday. I think it will be a birthday he will remember.
Night of the 13th birthday....
On Kyle's 13th birthday both Clark and I left work early to help him celebrate. He had decided he wanted to eat lasagne so we went to dinner with Grandma and Papa at the Macaroni Grill. Kyle was happy and ate up all his food and dessert. We had bought an ice cream cake that he wanted but ended up not eating it since most of our meals came with a dessert and we were all STUFFED!! Savannah spilled Clark's soda on him so that was the most excitement we had all night. haha Kyle and Clark went off to his focus group once he was done opening up his gifts. He ended up not being picked for the focus group but he still got paid his $65 and made it home in time to watch Survivor. Kyle said he had a great day and was looking forward to his two parties that were still coming up!
Science Fair Night
Kyle wanted us to go to Science Fair night to see all of the other displays. I stress over his project way more then he does and I always wonder if he did a good enough job or if it looks too young for him. I will worry no more!!! Some of the crapola that parents allow their kids to turn in is down right embarassing!!!! No effort and using data from your brother and yourself is no scientific experiment!!!! We ended up with an A- which is a pretty decent grade as far as I can tell. Kyle's friend Seby won a second place ribbon and had a cool project with his turtle. Next year will be Kyle's last required science fair project (and I already have an idea for it!) so I have a few years off before I have to come up with more fabulous ideas for Savannah!!!
Fun for my birthday with the Taylors
For my birthday we decided to go to Dave and Buster's with the Taylors. We had lots of fun and blew thru $80 worth of Dave and Buster's money in no time. We horse raced, shot guns, rode motorcycles and played skee ball. It was a lot of fun and something to do so we did not have to worry about the weather. The kids ended up with prizes.......yah whatever! Miss S got a poodle purse and a whistle pop that was broken so there were lots of tears but Daddy saved the day and took it back and got a new one! Miss A got a Hello Kitty lipgloss set and a whistle pop. Once the little girls were done the big kids looked around for what seemed like FOREVER to spend their treasure! They ended up with cheap little speakers for their Ipods. They are both new to the ipod ownership so they were thrilled. J got a pink set and Kyle went for the blue set......another big surprise there! It was a great way to celebrate my birthday and have fun with the kids!
