Happy 91st Birthday Great Grandma!

We had a wonderful time celebrating the Fourth of July and my Grandma's 91st Birthday. It is nice that it is always on a day off for everyone and my mom always puts out a great spread of food! Salad and Berries!
Meat and bread and the traditional pot stickers! HA! We also had Deep fried Turkey. It was good and juicy. We ended up eating a little bit later then planned due to the size of the huge turkey but all was fine and we were able to visit and enjoy more!

Clark and Savannah swimming and having a good time during the party.

After swimming someone decided to become a PIRATE!! She loves the pirate ship that I got for Grandma and Papa's but she also is probably the only 3 year old that has watched all the Pirate of the Caribbean movies multiple times. She knows all about Jack Sparrow and loves the ride at Disneyland too.

Grandma with her gift I designed. I had everyone do their hand print in birth/spouse order and it goes as follows:
Ray, Mom, Dad
Ron, Kris, Kristina, Clark
Michael, Tina, Scott , Catalina
Kyle, Rebecca, Savannah, Joseph
We had my Grandma do her hand in white paint over the stars so she too could be included. Michael and Scott were not able to come to the party so I made them come over to my mom's and stamp their hands out. I'm not sure what my Grandma will do with the canvas but I hope that someday some of the kids will fight over this family project! I think she will enjoy looking at everyone's hand print and if it makes her smile at least once it was worth it. Another thing we found interesting is the family similarities.

My Grandma's hand.....with all the work and scars her life has brought.

Savannah and Grandma get ready to blow out your candles. It was a yummy carrot cake with apricot mousse filling.

All of us are done and ready to give her the gift.....

My kids doing a smiley Fourth of July picture!

Happy Fourth of July!

We were invited by Savannah's friends "the twins" to celebrate Fourth of July at the Siver Creek Country Club on the 3rd. We went to have some BBQ and watch the fireworks.
Kisses for her big brother who she adores!!! He seems to eat it up too!

They look good in Red, White and Blue. Clark and I actually matched too but we were waiting for Clark to get ready here so just taking some shots on the porch...Should have tried for a family shot at the party!

Less smiles because she is so excited and can't wait to see her buddies!

Marie, Rose and Savannah getting ready to play the tennis game. Thank goodness there was a nice young guy to help them out. After they hit the ball over the net they went to get a prize....that was crazy since other kids were still hitting and you let little girls look at all the prizes and it is pretty much like shopping at a store....so much to look at and so many things to touch!

Savannah's turn to hit......

The Prize Pick up!

A flag butterfly! That's what she asked for and pretty much the girl did a good job!

Chillin in the grass eating dinner....she polished off the giant fruit cup in about 2 seconds and then enjoyed her Doritos! She gladly gave up her hot dog to Kyle.

Kyle enjoying his hamburger. It was great for Kyle ....all food was purchased with a ticket. He was always willing to go stand in line for a drink, popcorn, ice cream or whatever else anyone wanted. He had his own stack of tickets and loved to be able to get whatever he wanted!
After the clubhouse event, we walked down to the golf course and got a great spot. It was so much fun to let the kids run around and enjoy their light sticks, once the music and fireworks started everyone oohed and ahhed and it was a great show! Perfect weather, fun friends, good food and more made it one of our favorite family nights in a while! The fireworks were over around 10 and then we walked back to the car said goodbyes and waited for the traffic to die down a bit before heading home!
Celebrating Great Grandma's 91st birthday today so more fun with the family!!
Hope you have a safe and family and friend filled holiday!!!!

Happy Father's Day!

AND...

I took these pictures on my Dad's birthday since we were all together. I turned them all black and white and then framed them for him for Father's Day. He always tells us he wants good kids and I guess if we are all stuck in a frame that's as good as we can get!

We celebrated Father's Day in Disneyland with my dad and Clark. Somehow....Savannah talked them into eating lunch with the Princesses at Ariel's Grotto. Wonderful time and fabulous food too. We were all stuffed and our Princess was very happy to introduce her brother to each of the Princesses.....not sure if she was trying to marry him off at this point but having a sister-in-law that works or lives at Disneyland would probably not be a bad idea! At least I would know where my mom would be all the time....visiting her favorite inlaw!!! HAHA!!!

Clark and I came back home but Grandma and Papa and the kids are continuing on another adventure into SanDiego. They will be home next week. Yep, 7 more days without the kids. We miss them already! I think Coconut misses them the most. My parents are getting their floors redone and you have to be out of the house anyways so off on a fun summer adventure. Looking forward to my nightly update!

May Disneyland trip 2!

Just put another load of laundry in and now it's really time to go to bed...hope you enjoy the pics!

May pics...

Checking in......

See Mom I remember how to do it! I know it has been a lllloooonnnnggg time since I checked in here but stuff got in the way.....

2 trips to Disneyland too! Had a great time catching up with our Utah buddies! So fun to see what they thought of CA Adventure and to see Disneyland thru the first timers Elliana and Tristen! So fun to see kids so excited! It is one of the reasons we go so much. Savannah is still having "firsts" at the park and so much excitement shines in her little bright blue eyes!! We reached the magical 40 inches but sometimes still get kicked off at the last minute by a newbie cast member doing their job but also wrecking the fun of a 3 year old! It is worse when she has been on something and then gets denied the next time! Oh Well, she is a trooper and rolls with the punches! That's my girl!!!

She also still loves to meet the Princesses and Tinker Belle....I think I will be standing in those lines for 10 more years at least. When we get up to them she waits until they sign her book and then tells them some dramatic story! They always tell me how cute she is. Nice to have them stay in full character and talk about their friends from the stories too. Savannah can't wait until Ariel gets her new ride at CA Adventure!

We had so much fun and I enjoyed all of the Food And Wine Events that we went to and since I was on reduced hours I had Clark take a day off work and down we went for another 4 days! Yep, we were there in time for dinner at Disneyland on Thursday and then enjoyed Friday and Clark spent most of Saturday waiting in line to meet Guy Fiereri from the Food Network. Clark loves him and was so dedicated to seeing him that he waited from 9:30 and got to meet him and get his autograph around 4:30 in the afternoon. Guy also cooked and they got to sample the food too. Not bad for a free event and happy that I did not spring for the big paid event. My mom picked up Guy's new book and that is what Clark got autographed! Nice Father's day gift for him!

As for work......yah, still closing and while I had my hours reduced and was enjoying the time with Savannah I did not enjoy my paycheck so well!!! I complained to the right source and am now back to working and earning full time hours. It is hard to be such a little office and only having 2 people there it just was not working. It was also insult to injury that we are losing our jobs and the pay that I was hoping to save for leaner times. We are still in limbo and no final day has been given but I am so over working there and looking all the time to find something else. I think everyone just wants it to be OVER! Worse part is we are getting busy and it seems to have turned around a bit in the Valley. Stay tuned and I will update some more later.

Celebrated my dad's birthday with all the family for a BBQ---he always requests simple chili beans, steak, potatoes and salad. Made a cheese tortellini salad with grape tomatoes, sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, and fresh basil. YUMMY!! I made two batches and sent off the second batch with my boys to an Eagle Court of Honor at Alum Rock Park. None came home so I hope they enjoyed it too. I took pictures of everyone for a cool Father's Day gift for my dad. I will post them soon since I know my dad does not read the blog! HA!

Kyle finished 7th grade....with the worse grades of the year but I think he just phoned it in for the last 6 weeks! I was on him every day and will never ever understand the mind of a boy that does the homework but does not turn it in.....maybe too many hormones at that age because I remember Michael driving my parents insane too!!!! We did go to his Sports Award night and Honors Night for the 3rd quarter.......won't be doing that in the fall though! Kyle will be doing lots of reading and writing for me over the summer. Got to keep his skills up and busy otherwise I think he may become a sloth! hahaha!!! Not really but trying to prevent that.

I finished the Twilight series of books tonight. Kyle's friend Daphne let me borrow the last 2 and if you know the love of these books by 13 year old girls then you know how generous that was. I enjoyed the story and actually enjoyed reading again. I think as mom's you don't carve out the time for things you love and I have always loved a great series of books! Hope Savannah will be a book lover too since Kyle is not.

Okay I will post some pics for tonight and will try and not be gone soooooo long next time!

Good night!
