Pumpkin Carving

Savannah is excited to get to use the cool skeleton scooper thing to get the pumpkin seeds out. That is until she declares it is yucky and "Daddy can you please do it for me?" Of course Daddy took over the cleaning out of the pumpkin!
Kyle decides to just dig the knife in and just go for it. He looks very intense here!

See in no way is she touching that stuff....this was all a planned pcture after I promised it wouldn't get on her hands! So girly!!

I have about 50 pictures of this!!! This was a crazy pumpkin carving dance around the backyard dance that lasted until it got dark. Since she has turned 4, we have been getting lots of funny stuff out of her! Dancing, jokes, way more pretending and so much more....can't wait to see what she brings out each day!

Kyle trying to figure out the dremel pumpkin carver that Grandma bought him. Still happy to see the smiles!

Two more intense people! Savannah told Clark what she wanted for the eye....one star and one regular! They also did the nose and then I carved out the mouth with teeth.

We need Mickey Mouse shaped ears on the side!

Okay Daddy, this is what I need.....she doesn't have the magic finger yet but her hands are Italian!!!
Kyle still figuring out what he wants to do and trying to get the hang of it. It looked pretty good and he was happy with the results so that's all that matters!

DONE!!! We did these on Friday night the night before Halloween. Fun stuff and two pumpkins are the perfect amount for people who don't like to touch the yucky stuff!!!

Today...

Today I am thankful for getting to spend the day with Savannah....it is girls only shopping day!

Today I am thankful for....

Today I am thankful for being able to know my grandparents and to know my kids have awesome relationships with their grandparents too!

Thanks Mom for all you and Dad do to make time for the kids and to make sure they all have their special alone time with you. I know they have many things they love about you but they don't always say it! Going on trips with us, having family dinners and BBQ's, Gingerbread Houses, Ranch time with Papa, playing board games, reading stories, making sure they always have cute clothes and shoes!, pumpkin patch trips, taking them to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and then lunch at Bubba Gumps, and sharing in the magic of each season!!! Plus about 1 million other reasons. We are all thankful that we are close and share so much!

A special kind of note......

Today I am not thankful for getting a parking ticket in Mt. View!!! So lame that cities even issue parking tickets! More lame that I was happy to find a spot and then thought someone left me a note when I came back to the car...haha! saw the 2 hour limit sign behind my car after I got the $30 ticket. They should post those signs every 2 feet for lameo's like me!

Today I am thankful for....

"A challenge that has been issued. It is, every day this month until Thanksgiving, think of one thing that you are thankful for and post it as your status. "Today I am thankful for..." Now if you think you can do it then repost this message as your status to invite others to take the challenge, then post what YOU are thankful for today?"

This was my post yesterday on Facebook. I think it is a great idea so as I post what I am thankful for each day I will add it here too! Please add what you are thankful for too!

Today I am thankful for.......my wonderful family and friends!

Boy Scout Halloween Party 2009

Kyle's troop always has a Halloween Party for the siblings and other cub scouts in our area. Savannh went as a Minnie witch and Bella was Tinkerbelle. They were excited to stand by Hannah Montana! Neither one of them won a prize but they had fun playing and eating some treats.
My Elvis scout son! He had a busy day with school a winning wrestling match and then home for dinner and a shower and then off to this party. The busy life of a 13 year old boy!

The girls at the end of the party! Fun stuff and they will be back next year ready to party again!

Halloween T-shirts - Girls Day Out!

We went to Michaels to do their Halloween craft of the day. You had to buy a shirt and then they helped you decorate it! When we first got there, my mom and Rebecca had been told it was a no go at this store and they would need to go to another store. I know my mom complained but then when Barb and I showed up with the kids and I started complaining that it does not say select stores only or in any way shape or form indicate that we had to travel to another store the lady said okay....give me 5 minutes and I will set something up for you. They did and all was good in Michaels land again!!! Here is Julienna starting her shirt.
Kyle does not want to make a shirt but he is willing to help Julienna out with some design help and painting help. Afterwards we said he should have bought a green shirt and painted on a Frankenstein head.

Rebeeca was the only one to paint her hands black and make a spider on her shirt. They then made a web and added glow in the dark accents!

Savannah picked a simple ghost design and we were done in no time...yes, I was anal and picked up one of Kyle's shirts that already had paint on it....we can't mess up our girly clothes you know!

Grandma and Rebecca watch as the web get BIGGER!

More art work after Julienna's discussion with Kyle.

Anabella's shirt! Barb worked hard on it and Bella kept wanting her to add more things.

Savannah's finished product! Savannah was actually tired of wearing Halloween clothes and complained about it on Halloween day! She will wear this shirt soon and then I will put it away until next year! She will be so happy to see it again and maybe not complain about wearing Halloween clothes to kindergarten!
All in all it was a perfect girls day out and lots of fun for only $2.50!! We will probably do more crafts at Michaels and stick to the larger store that always does the fun stuff!
