Happy Birthday Michael!

Okay I know this is not a great pic of Michael but here he is at Christmas with Joseph! He is having his birthday party at the ranch with his kids and my dad. Rebecca invited us to come too but we had plans already. They are coming to eat up our Superbowl snacks when they get back! Funny how for kids it is all about the cake, if it is someone's birthday then there must be CAKE!!!

Interesting week for us. We had Kyle's moving up ceremony at boy scouts on Tuesday night. Thursday I got to go to the DMV to renew my drivers license! The last time I went was when I was 24 and they wanted to update my beautifulpicture with another....you know it will be just as crappy as the one I have now! hahaha I made an appointment to avoid the pain that usually is assoicated with the DMV and my appointment was for 8:50 am. I still got there a little bit early, checked in and sat down for the wait. I waited then off to window 12 to pay and take an eye exam. No other changes so I paid my $28 and she sent me off to the camera line. Waited my turn there and it was next to people who were taking the test. Who know's if I could actually pass that test?????! I figure I will have to help Kyle study for it in a couple of years (YIKES!) and that is soon enough for me. Took my picture and was walking out the door at 9:13. Guess it does help to have an appointment!!! The new license should be at my mailbox in 2-3 weeks.

Yesterday, we went to Kyle's old school to support the taiko program. They were having their Chinese New Year Celebration and Kyle performed with the adult group. He said he was happy to not have a costume change like last year. It was a good show and I sold snacks to help them raise more money. Grandma and Savannah played on the playground and watched most of the show. Savannah took a nap during it. Not sure how she was able to sleep with all the drums going. I am amazed at the number of parents who dropped their kids off and left. DID NOT STAY to watch them perform. This was the choir, taiko kids etc!!! What the heck is that??????? I can not imagine. There was one little girl (first grade so maybe 6 years old?) who was left when all the other kids were gone. Felt bad for her. She sat with us for about an hour before anyone thought to come pick her up!

They think they raised enough money for the choir and the taiko for the rest of the year. They will still be selling See's candy for Easter and then have a booth at the multiculteral night to try and get more. This whole program is funded by recycling!! We still have Clark and Kyle take all our bottles etc. to taiko on Sunday nights to help this program. Something the kids need and the schools just do not have enough money to get it done.

We went out to dinner with my parents last night to Aqui. Love it and it has been a long time since we ate there. I had the pork tamales and Clark and my dad had an ahi tuna special. They both loved it. My mom went for her favorite Salmon knife and fork burrito. Kyle had the Cuban pork enchiladas and for the first time in a Loooonnnnggg time I did not have to trade food with him.

Today we met the Taylors at the Park and the kids and the dogs had a good time. We went to the shopping center and had luch together. We were laughing at how much drama the little girls have and how much alike they are! Not sure if it is the age or just being the baby girls or what. I should do a complete comparison someday. Would have gone to Farmer's Market too but had the dog so home again for the drama queen to take a long nap before the cousins arrive later. We will be watching the Super Bowl for the commercials and snacks!!!
