Just overheard....
"I'm a Princess- Get out of my way!!!!"
"You are bothering me!!!!!"
Oh yes, Miss S talking to her Daddy! and yes, he let's her get away with this! I am here in the office laughing as silently as I can!
Off to eat dinner with the Princess and her wrapped around little finger Daddy!

Another night at Junior High...
Clark and I attended Back to School night at the junior high again. Nice to see some parents we know and get to meet Kyle's teachers. Clark was amazed at the back and forth across campus runs that we did but we did not get a morning break or lunch in the schedule! Kyle seems to be handling the change to junior high pretty well.....a few things we learned and will now be more into looking at his messy backpack and binder!!
A funny 12 year old boy story too.......
Last week we were getting ready in the morning and he was taking Coconut to Tina's (hi Tina! and thanks again!!!) so she could watch him for us. He took the cage and food and then came back to get the dog. I was waiting for him and running around doing some last minute stuff. I wanted to load the car so when he came back home, we could go off to school. I really should learn to stay out of his room. It is pretty messy most of the time and he does have a path so in I went to look for the backpack. Found it but also noticed dirty clothes on the floor. You can tell when the jean shorts are laying there and he just stepped out of them and that is where they stay! I loaded the car and went back in his room. I picked up some dirty shirts and threw them in the hamper, then onto the shorts. I picked a pair up and they weighed a TON! I knew something was in the pockets so I reached in and pulled out 4 handfuls of change. Pennies, dimes, nickels, and quarters. Who knew where he got so much change???!!!! I put the shorts in the hamper too and went out to the car.
While we were driving to school and making plans for the afternoon pickup, I happened to ask about this pair of jean shorts. Kyle proceeded to tell me that after he did his homework he wanted to know how much the change that he had weighed. He said he filled up his pockets and then weighed himself. After he knew how much it was he took his pants off and reweighed himself! He asked me if I wanted to know how much it weighed. I said nope, just wanted to know what you were doing. Sometimes it is better to not know what they are doing!!! I guess I can be proud that he was creating a math problem for himself instead of watching t.v. or playing video games. I also think only a 12 year old boy would do this. A girl would have lined up all the money grouping it together or found out how much it added up to so she could go shopping!
At least he gave me the laugh of my day and I remember I was never a 12 year old boy so I can learn from him everyday!

Remember....
Kyle was in kinder, had the news on while I was getting dressed and he told me a plane crashed into a building. Went to watch it for myself and could not believe it......do I Send him to school? called Barb to make sure she had not left for the airport, called Rich and told him. Went to my parents and sat glued to the t.v. Took Kyle to school and hoped it would all be okay.
My parents were to go to Disneyland to celebrate my mom's birthday. (Sounds the same as this year) We were to follow. Should we go or not.....we had flights. Drive? so many questions, we decided to go. At the time, I think it was best that we were together as a family. Weird while driving saw a military helicopter in the sky...nothing else. We were at Disneyland during the country's moment of silence. It was silent...no rides, shops open, etc. They shut it all down and the employees at work were able to join guests and remember. I will never forget.

Rebecca's 9th Birthday!
This was just the start of our busy weekend. We had Clark's company picnic at Vasona on Saturday and it was even HOTTER! The kids went thru a ton of drinks and enjoyed the balloon lady, jump house and pinata! Kinda a low turnout for this year but I think it was the weather and time of year. Lots of work for Clark!!!!!
On Sunday, my mom and I went to the bridal shower for Catalina. I thought we were going to die about 10,000 times on the way to the shower. Nothing like crossing Highway 17 and then traveling 4 curvy miles on a one lane road! Learned some intersting facts about the wedding and my brother....wish I still knew the person that other people described to me. We survived!
No pictures of the rest of the weekend....not in the mood to take the camera out.
My mom and dad took off with the little kids this morning for Disneyland! We will join them with Rebecca and Kyle on Friday night. This is what my mom wanted to do for her birthday and since I know she will not read the blog until Monday....remember to wish her a Happy 60th on Monday!!!!

Labor Day Fun....
These are some pics I took when we went to Santana Row with Grandma and Papa. We had to go to Crate and Barrel to buy a shower gift and decided to go to lunch too! We had the slowest waiter ever (it was his first day) so lunch took over 2 hours. The kids had a great time and we all enjoyed the food.
After lunch, we came home and the kids played and Miss S tok a nap. Michael called and said he had built an outdoor movie screen in his backyard and to come watch a movie. We popped some popcorn and got some candy and away we went. I told Kyle it was just like going to the drive-in except we did not have to sit in the car!!! BONUS!
On Monday we hung out, went grocery shopping, laundry, and swimming! Not much fun on the extra day but it was nice to relax. We have a ton of fun coming up in the next few months and a ton of birthday celebrations!!! So be on the lookout for more fun!

90210 2.0 version
Okay, a new guilty pleasure was viewed tonight. 90210 2.0...wow much more can be shown then what we saw in the 80's! SO nice to see so many people back on the show and the new kids seem ready to make this show work. I watched it with Kyle and he was asking quite a bit about who people were and how I knew them from the old show. I hope the writers keep it up and keep letting the old characters show up!!!!!! Kinda weird watching it with my junior high kid but I know he has started to pay attention to shows and picks his own favorites. If he keeps up with the school work I will let him see the beginning of Heros (his favorite show) and let him watch as he earns it with school work being done! He will continue to tease me about watching my show but I know he will be right next to me on the couch watching and enjoying the lives of the West Beverly High Kids!
Guest Photographer......
Look forward to more exciting adventures of our photographer and her dog Coconut in the future!
